Are call from the "local Yellow Pages" a scam? I operate a small retail business in Chandler, AZ. I maintain

I operate a small retail business in Chandler, AZ. I maintain getting calls nearby purporting to be from "Your Local Yellow Pages" asking me to update information. I did it several times, and that's all they ask. They don't try to trade anything, and they don't try to get me to bestow any information other than my address and business phone number, and any fax #'s.

So here's the entry: They call every freaking week, sometimes twice a week. I finally said "I've already updated information next to you goodbye" but they keep calling. One ring I said "You guys need to quit calling me, I've updated my information dozens of times" and she said "we've never call you before" so there's something fishy going on here. What I'm guessing is that they're an information harvesting company keeping their archives updated so that they can send me more second-hand goods mail. I don't consistency threatened or anything, just extremely bothered. Is this arranged to anyone else? Have you heard of it? Yellow Pages rep here?
What it is phoning you is telemarketing companies who try and trick you into buying in attendance products like listings on www.the-internet-yellowpages.com . They give an account you that they are calling to update cause you own already had a book with them, but what it really is is that they bought your information from the credit card companies and posted your info on near site awhile earlier lacking your knowledge. Then they try and trick you into "confirming" your index for the next year by participating surrounded by a verbal contract (which you dont realize it is till its too late) and next your stuck having to payment it when the invoice arrives. Next time they call, in recent times tell them your 'not interested, and to please purloin me off your list'. Be nice to them or they will hold on to calling. Also, the reason you would be getting so copious calls is because that scheme multiple companies have bought your info and they are respectively trying to trick you.

Answers:    Be greatly careful. I never afford out my information. This could be a spam or a mailing schedule compilation company. It could be identity theft or marketing companies. You never know. It is best to be protected than sorry.

I have an 'agent' at the washed out page company. If someone calls me, I merely tell them to contact my agent.
