at our job we're required to wear them.. they show your status but also hold your ID visable. I agree with this.. its apt to have the lanyards beside ID's on thems o you know who you're talking to.

it also is a worthy way to kind sure you dont lose your badge and own to go through the hassel of getting another one..

if you work at a place that uses promotional items similar to pins or buttons for advertising things, its a flawless place to put them instead of poking holes through your shirts :)

Yes within are advatages such as they break when sufficent force is applied-for example it gets caught within rotating equipment or moving machinery. As a security issue they can break if someone is trying to strangle you beside it in a come to blows.
