Hi, I enjoy started a children's magazine lower than a institution and so we currently are signed as a non-profit. However, after I graduate, I want to preserve it non-profit but I'm not sure how. I read somewhere that contained by writ to be a non-profit you hold to create a board a directors...does that be going to that you cannot run your alliance anymore? I want to hang on to control of it until it is established and I am organized to elapse it on, even if I don't seize rewarded - it's my brainchild! Also, does it cost anything to record a non-profit etc. and other info you might know in the order of non-profit orgs? Thanks!

I am going to refer you to a site that have information on forming non-profits in the state of Oregon. You can go to your state controllers organization or the department where on earth you register a business and most potential find duplicate information as it pertains to your state.

From my own experience as a volunteer within a pre-existing non-profit, I cultured it can be any a 501(c)(3) or a 501(c)(6).

The former is a charity, which typically represents children and family (e.g., Red Cross, Churches, disease organization, etc.) and the latter typically represents specific interests (e.g., International Association of Administrative Professionals, and other professions).

A 501(c)(3) is more popular to businesses and individuals because donations are duty deductible from any entity. Donations to a 501(c)(6) are not individually charge deductible; and, would simply portrayal as a business expense.

As far as paperwork, I believe purely a President and a Treasurer want to be name, which can be yourself and another individual.

When it comes to decisionmaking, it depends how the bylaws be authored and voted by any member. They can be revised, as needed, as long as it's done inside the freedom of those bylaws. During my language, bylaws be used to to be as flexible as it suited our troop's wishes, so we're not delayed by any formalities.
