For some time now I've dreamed just about going to school and next opening up and small business where on earth I could bake and adorn cakes, for weddings and adjectives that good suff. I love doing it but not sure if its a sagacious career move. I'm going to university this fall what classes and decision should I think more or less... please help up to that time going down this path acquire some expirience working for others ,preferably not where you intent to depart up, this should learn you tricks of the trade and contacts to bring back supplies,always remember beforehand you do this it is very time consuming and associates do object to paying for these type of things because you enjoy to charge for your time
The food service industry is a VERY HARD industry to compete in. If you hold stamina, drive and are a competitive person who is business savvy next yes you should open a bakery. Best of Luck to you.

The stuff that you should swot up is baking and decorating. There are plentiful programs that are offered that teach this, similar to pastry school or baking school. There are also adult nurture programs that offer cake decorate at different levels (beginner, intermed, advanced). You might want to pilfer some classes in an full-size education center at first because they are cheaper ($40/6 weeks or so) and see if you close to learning adjectives of the flowers and writing/piping.

You might want to take some intro business and accounting classes or at smallest read a lot on the internet in the order of those subjects. Some cake decorators do more on the business side of things than they actually do contained by the kitchen. Another thing to be precise important is to put together a portfolio of your pretty cake. So that would require practice with different styles and decorate. You could learn adjectives of these things in academy but you can also learn them by doing them on your own. Each time you trademark a cake and decorate it, be critical and try to swot something new or try something hot.

The downside of doing cakes is that it is rock-hard to get space surrounded by a professional kitchen and hard to catch financing. Many states will not allow you sell stuff that you overheat out of your kitchen. You have to hold a kitchen certified by your state's health dept. Your duty then is to find space contained by a "commercial kitchen" that is certified. Usually you own to pay rent. Churches, school, and community organizations enjoy these available but you will have to hail as around to see if they will let you use their space. The other issue is that several small business lenders will not lend to food service businesses. Therefore you would have to buy supplies and mixes from friends and relations or have another errand at first. These are problems that you can overcome though - many culture make a clothed living by doing cakes, specially if you are creative and have honest 'hand' skills.
