I just started a small business that I am running through my home. But the papers and finances and receipts, etc are a bit overwhelming since I didn't own a system already set up to receive them in the commencing. Has anyone found anything to be particularly encouraging or a system of organizing that works for you?

If you hold a computer, use a spreadsheet program (eg Microsoft Excel) to keep your accounts contained by order. There's a template that comes near the program. Keep it simple. Income, Expenses, etc...There are even FREE spreadsheet programs that you can download from the net. Just use Google to find 'free spreadsheet applications'...if u do not hold a PC, go spinal column to basics...use a fullscap article with columns to show money coming contained by and out...Filing is very historic, get 2 files, again, one for adjectives your expenses and the other for all you income (statements)...hope this help....good luck.
