I am a licensed home daycare provider contained by CA also. Make sure the local Child Resource and Referral office have your information correct. I also advertise on craigslist when I enjoy an opening. I can usually hold an empty spot packed with contained by a few weeks, usually from parents looking on craigslist. Good luck!

Answers: My house has have a daycare center for 30 years in Santa Barbara. My mother is the owner. You will enjoy a turn over every September when some kids go into Kindergarten. Your income will fluctuate base on the number of children you have. If you own your own children, they do count as a head count. So if your licensed for 6 and enjoy 3 kids, you can only own 3 and they can't be infant (they consider a child under 2 person an infant, not one) It's better to be licensed for 12 (14) but you will need to own hired help and you'll with the sole purpose be allowed 3 to 4 babies. You will need to put add in the papers whenever you own an opening. Some times it take quite a few weeks to saturate. So your out that income. Not all parents (majority of them) do not hand over you propper notice that they are departure. Some that are on EOC (a government paying for low income families) I've found are really flaky. Paying parents are too. Sometimes you'll catch a week notice, others no make out, some you will get 30 morning notice. It adjectives depends on the person. Even when they speak they'll give proper mind. Theirs a lot of downsides to this home base business. There's a lot of upsides too. The income is honourable. My mom charges $35 a day per child on a flat rate per month. But there's other ways you can charge. Their is a constraint in Ventura County for child daycare centers. So in attendance is a good income opportunity, but contained by my opinion, it's a difficult and mentally draining carreer.
