I want to start a casting company contained by South Florida. I will do casting for assorted television projects.

Does anyone know what type of state and/or national certification is needed for such a piece? The state of Florida Web sites and phone lines have be fairly negative and I get the sense that they are only just over whelmed with other issues (?)

I will not step to the SBA, either. This is not an issue of seeking start-up funding and, barring that, you cannot travel to them. It¡¯s not their area.

Does anyone know what is needed to start such a activity? Thank you so much for your information and/or advice.

You are right that the SBA itself is not the right place for business start-up question but they have a volunteer group of business consultants that donate free advice/consulting. Go to http://www.score.org and find your local chapter, they should'nt bestow you the run-around.

On another note, you are not retailing so you don't entail a sales charge number. I would register as a DBA with your county. For any more, check SCORE out. Thanks.
