Answers:
They're not going to just throw you out in attendance. Almost everyone gets some sort of training. There are a few immensely basic steps.

Signing onto the register near your assigned number and password.

Going into the 'sale' function' and then scan. It couldn't be any easier. Then it's just a situation of hitting 'total' and collecting the monies due from your customers. You will be lost for about an hour, and after I promise, you will laugh at the thought of how uneasy you were. Just close to the first days of school. =)
The simply trouble you will get into is when the customer change their minds, or debates the price of an item. Then you hold to get 'voids' done, or your register will come up short, which is NOT a apt thing.
Then nearby are proper check handling procedures that must be followed. It's all practice, practice, practice, and look OUT for short loose change artists. Their only living is to seperate you from your money. They will deliberately try to mete out you to lose money by giving you a $100 bill for a cheap item. it's their job to rob you, and you won't even see it coming until the subsequent day. LOL

I've worked contained by quite a few stores and they are pretty much like peas in a pod everywhere.

good luck.
Well, every brass register that I've worked with is different. But if you're a short time ago starting the job, next they'll definitely train you on the register. They won't expect you to know the contraption right off the bat because, close to I said, every one is different.
i hope you didnt loose any sleep over this
