I would. They may be checking to see if it has ever be repaired or even trying to establish a fair good point for it. Sounds like a biddable potential buyer to me.

I wouldn't endow with it to them. Theres no reason for them to hold it and I could only consider of negative things they could do next to it.

if they want the model numberand everything thats fine but a serial won't tell them anything else. They could have need of it for their own warranty info if theirs is stolen. Yes, they cant do anything near it. I have sold coach purses, and relations always want the serial number. not sure why they would want that...if you own given them all the specs...I imagine that is much close to a vin # for a car
I don't see any spoil giving it to them yes, no problem. They prob just want to check the year it be made or something. Be carful with cell phones and things resembling that. Yes, they probably want to make sure it is the model they want to buy

Answers: It is okay but why do they requirement it i wouldn't give it to them because they may be a detective looking for stolen merchandise or some who would use the information to report it stolen I am sure you own done nothing wrong and hold nothing to put away but why risk it. Also when you go to the store down the road to buy an amplifier you can not rip the collection open an read the serial # GOD BLESS

Yes, It helps to identify the exact model. It should not be possible to trace your address from the serial number.
