I have a huge crush on a manager within a different department. It was deliberate we both liked respectively other. She stayed a bit formal around others, but we would just soften when we were one-on-one next to each other.
We have a wonderful relationship for about 6 months. Then, for non-work reason, it just faded.

Be nice to him, don't be pushy, and definately respect that work requires foremost discretion.
