Hey guys, I'm really interested in businesses and starting businesses. If I'm thinking almost importing a product from China, how do you recommend getting it to Vancouver? Does anyone know how much it cost to ship a container from China to Van?

When I be looking at importing cars within containers from Japan to Australia, it was between AU$2000-AU$4000 depending on if you considered necessary a 20ft or a 40ft container. Also about $1500 to enjoy the car not contained by a container if that is any comfort at all.

It's not the import that'll be the problem;

1. A lot of Chginese products have be recalled because of head paint or other defects. Can you afford to enjoy all of these products recall if you run into problems?

2. If they're counterfeits, they're illegal to provide. In the US, they're illegal to possess. The US will be a big bazaar for you.

3. What about repairs? Returns? Pretty expensive shipping them stern to China.

4. Then you have the Tibet situation. If you provide Chinese goods, you'll enjoy the activities of the Chinese senate working against your success.

Work these problems out first.

Of course, there are tons variables here. Cargo size, type of cargo, etc. You should not lone be concerned with transportation but customs as economically. Depending on the product, customs may be more expensive than shipping.

First I would find the products you want and get an estimated container size within cubic meters or feet. I would after contact a freight forwarding company to get a quote for shipping and customs. A quote is free, so this is assured to do.

Answers: I already introduction from China and have done it for years. I introduction into the US, but the price is only for a time bit different for Canada.

All you need to do is contact a shipping broker. Search Google for China shipping brokers and email a few. They will quote you pricing from the port surrounded by China to you. If you are buying by container it will be cheaper than buying less than a container.

Get your info first, find the product you want, allow the factory to quote you shipping prices as they can do that for you as economically.

Approximate cost for a 40 foot container will be $5000 Us Dollars. A 20 foot container about $3500 Us Dollars. nearby will be duties (tax you will owe on value of inventory import based on the type of product it is and what your country charges for introduction duties for that catagory) other fees such as document fees, train or truck shipping when it lands at the port etc... but the biggest fees are the sea shipping from port within china to CA port and the duties.
