I am designing a coat for myself and a couple of other people (and getting compensated for it) I do not know how to sew. A tailor at the Brooks Brothers I work at said he could make the coat, but have to have a full rhythm made for him to do it. I am thinking of going to a pattermaker, but is there a path to like travel into a written agreement that he/she cannot take the design away from me if I move about to him/her to make a shape? Or do I have to seize the full on copy right?

One of the terms of the agreement should specify that the guide is a "work for hire" and that you retain all rights, title and interest within the intellectual property. You could write up your own contract and get that being to sign it as long as it sys under no circumstance can the jacket be copied or reproduced or made to similar specifications you might be ok. Just breed sure you write about the unusual parts of the design in the contract later go and see a advocate if anything happens. If the designer copies it copy his hand off beside a hammer resembling in casino! : ) I would apply for a rights on your design and get a advocate who specializes in business contracts to submit to this soul on your behalf a contract for him/her to sign so they won't try stealing your design should it become popular and really make money.
