Minibus or hackney cab opinion? i would like to start a cab / 8

i would like to start a cab / 8 seat minibus busness own anyone got any philosophy and tips, thought we would do airprt trips ect but want to do this legal, from home,
I created a website for a business that offered Gatwick to Brighton trips and back again. We used G00GLE adwords to drive traffic to the site and it be incredibly successful and profitable. However, they were reported by other cab drivers as it turned out that they did not have a license and thus appropriate insurance.

So ring your local council and find out around a license and also talk to your insurance company.

Good luck!
If you want to do it rightfully then contact the licencing department at your local council and they will articulate you through it. Lots of forms to fill surrounded by and lots of money to pay out.

Edit: not sure how much operator licence is, varies from council to council. Each vehicle must be plated costing around lb200 per year (again, vary depending which council), each driver must be licenced, lb150ish and later of course you hold to arrange insurance which is never cheap anyway! And that's just to start beside, there are lots of other concealed costs

Answers:    Firstly you enjoy to go to your local council and see what they require usually a locality exam a CRB check and a medical when all specifically done you apply and have to own a licence you car contained by most cases has to be a clear in your mind age and go through a interview mini buses have in a minute got to be fitted next to tachograph's and you may need a operator licence but you first step is to get contained by touch with your local council and it is the best passageway as all councils own different legislation and rules but believe me think twice as it is not as rosy as it seem it is hard work unbelievably long unsocial hours if you want any more help bestow me a e-mail i have be a taxi driver for years my three sons are minicab drivers good luck Dave
I saw a documentary once that feature a guy who converted his taxi into a mobile disco - really! What he did be reburbish the interior to include a super sound system, lights and even a karaoke appliance. The guy would drive and also be the deejay, entertaining his clients with joke and friendly banter.

And the price for an hour's ride contained by his cab? - $100. $200 if it's the zenith season ( I would assume that means holidays and weekends).

If he can do this beside a regular cab, consider the possibilities beside your 8 seat minivan!
