Now that I have received such wonderful warning, I am one other question. Should a within home child care service start up within the summer or at the beginning of the arts school year? All answers will be appreciated.
Anytime - though I suggest few months BEFORE the high-demand season. It take time for people to know in the region of your business, and you have to grant time to increase awareness about your business.

So if within your area you thought a surge in requests for daycare by institution opening, summer would present you time to promote your business and get your entitle out there. Marketing take time. Parents also make decision based on what other parents recommend, so that can pass you time for word of mouth to spread (assuming of course that your business will generate positive word of mounth :o)

Once you get hold of popular, then your subsequent problem is how to accomodate the long waiting list!

Hello:

I would start as soon as I had adjectives of my licensing, furniture and lesson plans surrounded by order. My girlfriend started a daycare surrounded by NJ in July of 1998 and in that was such a elevated demand that in a year she had open another location and was renting the underground store of a church to house the after school children. (Amost adjectives of her staff was from the local community college precipitate childhood education program.they needed the experience so she get quality comfort for minimum wage.) She had a waiting detail before she open her doors (it started in the front room on the 1st floor or her house). She call existing daycares and the local Urban League and Social Services Day Care Unit and they gave her autograph and number to people on their waiting list.

She also has a outstandingly HUGE waiting list for her summer program. She not quite goes out beside the summer program kids herself anymore but her staff loves it. They get to "hang out" and bring paid adjectives summer and the kids aren't stuck in front of a kid sitters TV all summer while their parents are working. My kids go for 3 summers while I lived in NJ. Most of her "trips" for the kids be to free venues (The park, the pool, quality walks, visit a gallery, the lake) they loved it. And if you grow beyond your initial 10 kids you would be able to back your community by providing jobs as resourcefully as quality daycare.

Best of luck
