I read an article last week that said buyers presently prefer "Fixed Price" or "Buy it Now" listings over "Auction" type listings. What is your opinion?
I'm not so much into buying anything on eBAY any more. I AGREE! I FEEL LIKE IT IS A WASTE OF MY TIME TO
POST AN INITIAL BID ONLY TO BE BATTLING THE
LAST 60 SECONDS OF THE ON-LINE LISTING!
Personally, I approaching auction style. I do a lot of business on e-bay buying and selling. Everything I deal in I starts very low near no reserve. I'm talking big stuff too, my husband and I own a sports car dealership so when we list a vehicle it other starts at $200 with no reserve. From the seller standpoint we have never done a buy it immediately or fixed price auction.

From the buyers standpoint, I love auction style. We also have small children so I buy and deal in baby/kids stuff on there. Lets read out there is something I'm looking for and adjectives that's offered is buy it now. Well, after I'd really rather purely go to the store and carry a new one myself. If adjectives sellers switch to buy it in a minute it seems that the glamor and fun of the auction would become outmoded and ebay would be just another online store.

Answers:   it depends on the item and the cost. Bidding on EBAY is 1/2 the fun
