Alibaba and 40 Thieves be an amateur compared to Alibaba you're referring to. This site is some 80% conmen and scammers.

The rest are registered companies (by paying $250.00 a year fee, some of them beside verification) and unless you are also registered by paying this fee they will not answer your requests. I intuitively would not use Alibaba's services even if they paid me.

What you are looking for and contained by which country is the most important cut, then contact the nearest Trade Commissioner of that country usually located at the Embassy or a Consulate and ask for reference and contacts. Personal visit is by far the most significant method.

Be prepared to provide appropriate verifications and papers of being contained by business and most of all that you are serious roughly speaking your intentions. Many people are of late after free samples beside no intention of doing any business in the adjectives. That would close the door for you immediately.

I can agree near kemperk's advice just partially. During my personal visit to Taiwan, Korea, China and many countries within Europe I managed to find deal that local suppliers could not even touch. As a matter of reality to some of them I became a supplier myself.

Depending on how big your operation is the best deal are usually in container volumes. If you are after a few pieces or a dozen at a time, next kemperk is absolutely right. Good inspection in US and most of adjectives minimal risk if any at all to you. foreign suppliers?
