I want to start a website that provides an online discussion forum. If possible, I would like to allow society to create their own profiles on the site and perhaps even up nouns photos if they chose to.

However, I know very little around website design and domain regsitration. First off, how difficult of a act is this for someone who has tremendously little experience? What web design software should I start beside? Where should I register my domain name and how much space would I necessitate?

Once you hold all 3 above you can setup your forum but if you are 100% strange i would reccoemend joining a webmaster community to get guidance and tips.

If you want your own domain and forum website not associated beside free group accounts like yahoo. Just buy a domain from godaddy.com, after find a web hosting company.
