I live in france and I requirement a "sealed allow of representation from England" to sell a few shares from UK that my husband vanished me. I have sent twice a will translated into english but to no avail. I other get like peas in a pod letter near the same enquiry : "sealed ...".

In the US, this is called a "Power of Attorney." I own no idea what the French possession for it is.

Basically, it allows someone (in this case a Briton) to exploit for and in your behalf to vend your shares. They need proof that you are indeed the owner of them--that you've be given the right to recieve them from a court (usually through probate.)
