Slow payer query? My husband has a construction business that he runs. Two months

My husband has a construction business that he runs. Two months ago he finished an emergency opening that he had to work dark shift for. It was tricky enough to work hours of darkness shift on a weekend and even harder to find employees that are inclined to work nights on the weekend. It be referred through my husband's dad so the proj mgr on this job is a friend of father surrounded by law. It be also a rush job so he get a 1 day sense and it needed to be do in two days. They worked their butt sour.

Its been over 60 days and he have yet to earnings. That job is 5K plus he also owes 45+ days on other career totaling 11K.

He blames it on his corp office loosing invoices and what not. He's be making excuses for too long and we need the money. We own a baby on the means of access and this is annoying especially since my husband worked his butt off for this money and accrue expenses (material and labor) that he had to remuneration and is out of that money.

What would you do?
We are small so I don't know about collections...
Place a lien on the property. It solitary cost 80-100 bucks, and just the thought of it will usually formulate them pay. Let them know this is what you are going to do and if pocket money isn't made within a correct amount of time...do it.
Edit* check with an attorney, I know nearby is a time limit for placing a lien after the work be completed.
Edit*Where ever the work was done is the property you will put the lien on. (improvements) correct? If the owners hold already paid this other company and not your husband, I am sure they will hold a great deal to right to be heard to this company about a lien on their property.
Now I have a boss once that sat within someones office until they produced a check.that might work as capably.
