Answer:
You nouns like a exceedingly industrious young soul. My brother started a business just similar to you are planning around 1993. In the beginning he custom computers (286, 386, 486 processors) and have approximately $600-$800 profit per box.

As time and technology advanced, and Dell, IBM, HP, etc. etc. gobbled up marketplace share, the profit margins on his custom boxes declined. Now days, you own to provide 24/7 technical support, 3 year warranty, all for roughly $100 a part. Over the 3 years you must provide the warranty, and assuming zero warrantied parts replacement (not including your labor time) are you of a mind to work what you will make contained by this venture. FYI-My brother is still surrounded by biz and he has added network to his list of offerings. With the frequent upgrades, service call for older unit, commercial accounts that pay for his time to keep hold of their small biz networks up and running, he does make a fully clad living.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to discourage you, but please look into this more up to that time you attempt to enter this venture. Once you own 50-100 of them out there and want you don't want to do it anymore, your still stuck with the support and warranty work you promised when you sold the unit.

Good luck to you and if you go forward I hope you become the subsequent Dell and run a couple of those big boys right of the biz!
