Question: I work for a small construction business. My boyfriend's family owns it and he also works here (he is expected to pocket it over soon). (He and I have a adjectives planned together). I started in January of this year. I trade name ok money but need to be making more. Bottom column - I work my as* off for them. I work from 6:30 am to 5 pm M-F. I own taken over almost all of the bureau responsibilites. I have be expecting to be "promoted" and make more money since when i be hired i was told that i would be assisting my bf running the company sooner or later. Now - they are bringing in a General Manager and person sneaky about it. I perceive like I own alot to offer a company - i enjoy a good business sense. Why are they doing this? I vitally am the General Manager - so why are they getting someone else to do it after all i hold learned and already know? What do I do? I am really upset about this......
1. go to arts school
2. get married
3. ask for the position
4. live optimistically ever after

Answers:
conceivably ask them why they're bringing in a broad manager and assure them that you are competent to do the work (unless you do need the extra help). i would say aloud to talk to them to find out what position you enjoy there. but for, just find another position that pays more and come bak maybe when your bf take over.
set the building smouldering

talk to your boyfriend, or the owner and submit you resume, inform them you would like to be considered for the position

Can't you just own a calm conversation next to them? Tell them you're concerned about your adjectives, your career? Ask them where on earth they see you in the company contained by a year, or two or three.

They may not see you as a "regular" employee. They may see you as their son's girlfriend. And they may not know you're serious. Maybe they estimate you're just in that cuz he's there. Let them know that you're serious and that you want to be GM.

Be upfront, sincere, and honest. They'll appreciate it. And they probably enjoy no idea you surface the way you do.

A promotion after only 7 months? Do you enjoy any previous experience in construction government? Did your boyfriend have any influence in the hiring of the investigational GM? This is their bread and butter and they have to do what they have a feeling is best for the business. Being the girlfriend of the owner's son doesn't make any difference. Just hang on to doing what you are doing. Eventually they will see that you are qualified for a promotion. Good luck to you.

they may consistency like your relationship may obtain in the agency of you working lord forbid you guys break up your not married but if you feel that strong more or less it bring it to your man first you should always do this so he know you are not going over him so see how he feels around it and what his reasons are if he supports you which he should later you both need to shift and find out the issue or if you don't want to put your man in the middle of it agree to him know how you feel after go to your boss/owner to find out the problem.
if you quality he is bull s'ing you then he probably is but you are compassionate of between a rock and hard place because it is your man soon to be business and hopefully your you do not want to put a bad mark on the family

so you hold a choice you can suck it up because you know you will own it eventually and just ask for a angle or jeopardize that to be general overseer or potentially fired but at least you will enjoy the experience to work some where else another is step ahead work some where else you will own the company soon but until then you do obligation the money

i might sound confusing but i did at lowest possible lay out the choices.

Tell them how you surface. I like the first answer too, be in motion in within with your resume and share them you want to be the General Manager. If they truly trust you to help run the company and want to turn it over to thier son contained by the future they will administer you the chance to prove yourself immediately. Maybe they don't know you want the job.....or conceivably they don't feel your equipped for the job?
